Now you have seen" Saving Private Ryan" and numbers of you have said it sickened you or it was too realistic or that you realized for the first time what those soldiers who landed on the beaches had done for the rest of us. That realism dealt with soldiers who knew to some extent at least what they were going up against.

Now we are engaged in another kind of war in which the realism is being inflicted on a population that does not know or expect to experience the mangling horror of man's insanity.

The enemy we now face owes his allegiance to a madness called nihilism. His purpose is the destruction of all structured society. His tactics and strategy is not a frontal assault on us to conquer and occupy the nation's territory, but to bring about demoralization of the people and complete chaos that will destroy civilization as we know it.

Of course this is not new. It is called Terrorism and its soldiers are Terrorists. We have been seeing this now for some time, but we have not seemed to identify it or understand it. Among other things, it does not have an organized national structure. It does not have the vast numbers of people or the wealth and power required to function as a nation. It bases itself among governments weakened by rebellion or very poor economics. It draws support from third world powers or holds some of these weakened governments hostage.

Other identifying characteristics are- their pretense of association with spiritual ideology, pretense of championing downtrodden peoples and governments struggling to emerge from poverty and misery. And their primary target- it becomes increasingly obvious- is the United States, because we are the only power that can stop them. If they should succeed in bringing the United States to its knees the road is open.

We must recognize their first and most important objective is to destroy the morale of the free peoples of the Western World . And we must understand they are committed to mortal death for those they consider to be their enemies. This is an Arial War on Poland, another attack on Pearl Harbor in different guise. But it is the real thing none-the-less. When will we realize our danger?
